Scholarship Eligibility

The Todd Foundation offers three kinds of tertiary scholarships:


Post-graduate Scholarship in Energy Research

This scholarship offers university students with appropriate masters or honours degrees the opportunity to undertake energy research that has wide relevance and value to New Zealand at a university or research institution within New Zealand. The scholarship is available for up to three years and the value is $25,000 per annum, to include tuition fees. In addition, an amount of $3,000 will be available during the term of the scholarship for attendance at an appropriate conference. This scholarship was awarded for the first time in 2006.

Awards for Excellence (Polytech)
In 2008 the Todd Foundation began offering scholarships for polytech students in their last year of study for research projects that have a practical application in NZ. The scholarships are offered on an annual basis in four categories: Science and Technology (including Agriculture and Conservation); Engineering and Manufacturing (including Architecture and Design); Business and Commerce; and Health and Social Sciences.

Awards for Excellence (University)
The Todd Foundation offers Awards for Excellence to university post-graduates for research projects or programmes that are likely to be of direct benefit to New Zealand and its people. The scholarships are offered on an annual basis in three categories: Science and Technology (including Agriculture and Conservation); Engineering and Manufacturing (including Architecture and Design); and Business and Commerce.
