Young Enterprise works across New Zealand to empower kiwi students for enterprise. One of the organisation’s keenest supporters was Sir John Todd – a founding trustee of the Todd Foundation and our chair from 1987-2015.
In recognition of Sir John’s commitment to both organisations, the Todd Foundation trustees have created the ‘Sir John Todd Memorial Grant’ – a five year funding relationship with Young Enterprise beginning in 2017.
Young Enterprise’s flagship programme is the Young Enterprise Scheme – for students in their final year at school. They also offer programmes, challenges and games for children and young people of all ages, encouraging them to discover their potential in business and in life.
Young Enterprise was close to the heart of Sir John Todd. His long and active involvement included bringing the Todd Corporation on board as a sponsor from 1998 – 2016. He also served as a member of their Supporters Council for many years. In 2011, Sir John was inducted into the New Zealand Business Hall of Fame (run by Young Enterprise) and honoured for his contribution to energy, investment and philanthropy.
We are proud to recognise Sir John’s life and work through the new Memorial Grant and look forward to honouring the Todd family commitment to enterprise through this ongoing relationship.
