Toi-EDA – Eastern Bay of Plenty

Toi-EDA leads and supports inclusive growth in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. Its name pays homage to Toi te Huatahi, (later known as Toi Kairakau), the principal founding ancestor of many iwi in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

Toi-EDA provides a backbone role for a range of workforce development efforts.  Building cross-sector partnerships to grow the workforce for good jobs in the Eastern Bay of Plenty is the workforce development mission. Toi EDA has adopted an approach which is systems-focused and includes both place-based and region-wide effort.

Connecting rangatahi, education and the world of work is one strong focus. Other initiatives support work-ready rangatahi and youth-ready employers, create new pathways into work, and reduce barriers to participation.
