What we fund

Our four funding streams are:

General Fund

Responsive, 1 or 2 year grants for community organisations or social enterprises. To be eligible your project or initiative must contribute to one of our goals:

  • Support for families and communities to provide safe and nurturing environments for children
  • Assistance for children and families to participate actively in learning, particularly in the early years
  • Help for young people to develop their potential and contribute fully in the community

Tertiary Research Awards and Scholarships

Our Awards and Scholarships include a doctoral scholarship in energy research and awards for excellence for research projects that are likely to directly benefit New Zealand and its people, carried out in approved universities and polytechnics in NZ.

Partnership Funding

Five year, untagged funding for previous General Fund grantees only.   Each year our trustees choose a theme and a small number of grantees working in this area are invited to apply.
